Arjona Bumps Iglesias From Top Latin Albums Perch

September 01, 2010

By By Leila Cobo, Miami

Enrique Iglesias? seven-week reign atop Billboard?s Top Latin Albums chart with ?Euphoria? (Universal) ends this week with the entry of Ricardo Arjona?s ?Poquita Ropa? (Warner), a 12-track set of acoustic songs with sparse instrumentation produced by Arjona and guitarist Dan Warner.

The album?s first single, ?Puente,? has not entered the Hot Latin Songs chart and is at No. 46 on the Latin pop airplay chart. Arjona bested Iglesias, who falls to No. 2 on the chart, by less than 500 units.

Iglesias? single, ?Cuando Me Enamoro,? rose again to No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart after falling to No. 2 last week. This marks its 13th week at No. 1 even as ?I Like It,? Iglesias? English-language single with Pitbull, rises from No. 12 to No.8 on the Hot Latin Songs chart.

The dual standing allows Iglesias to collect his 28th top 10 (among 30 chart visits) on the chart, tying for third-most in the chart's 24-year history.
