UPDATED: New Albums From Don Omar, Shakira, Juanes Among Others

UPDATED SEPT. 2. The release date of Shakira's upcoming release is Oct. 19, not Nov. 2.


The Latin marketplace is preparing for a hectic fall release schedule that includes albums by some of the genre?s top selling names. The lineup:

Don Omar, Oct. 5
Don Omar?s new studio set, Don Omar Presents ?Meet the Orphans,? features artists and producers from El Orfanato Music Group, a group of producers and artists. The album will be released on Machete Music in a regular version with 15 tracks and a deluxe version with 20 tracks and a DVD with two videos and an EPK. Don Omar is currently filming the latest installment of the film franchise ?Fast & Furious? where he has a recurring role as one of Vin Diesel?s pals.

Marco Antonio Sol?s, Oct. 12
Marco Antonio Sol?s, who recently claimed a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, releases his new studio set, ?En Total Plenitud,? on Fonovisa. Solis was named Billboard?s Latin act of the decade for his radio and sales success.

Shakira, Oct. 19
On Nov. 2 Sony Music will release Shakira?s all-Spanish set, ?Sale El Sol,? which reportedly includes collaborations with Calle 13 and Pitbull, among others. On Sept. 15, the singer also kicks off the North American leg of her world tour in Canada. She will play 21 shows in the U.S. before continuing to Latin America, Europe and Asia.

Juanes, Dec. 7
Juanes' new studio set on Universal Music Latino, produced by Stephen Lipson, of which a first single, ?Yerbatero,? is already high on the Billboard charts.

Others
Also due in the fourth quarter is the new studio set by Mexican rockers Man?. A date has not been announced but sources say the group is currently recording in Miami. Other major fall releases include Calle 13?s new album on Oct. 19 (Sony), an acoustic album by Alejandro Fern?ndez set for release around Thanksgiving weekend on Universal, and a Nov. 16 album by Christian Castro titled ?Viva El Pr?ncipe,? which pays homage to Mexican singer Jos? Jos? and will also come out on Universal.
