Mercury Music Group president Jason Iley has announced promotions for senior U.K. executives Paul Adam and Jamie Nelson.
Paul Adam takes on the job of managing director at Mercury's Vertigo label, which releases Amy Macdonald, Razorlight and Metallica in the U.K. Adam joined Mercury five years ago as senior director of A&R from Island, where he signed big-selling pop acts McFly and Busted. He previously worked at Universal's Polydor label.
"The Vertigo name is already back on the A&R map thanks to the success of Amy and Razorlight, but I know Paul will lead the label to the next level as a distinct repertoire stream within the Mercury group," said Iley in a statement.
A&R executive Jamie Nelson has been promoted to director of A&R for Mercury with a brief to build the domestic roster. Nelson joined Mercury in January from EMI where, as head of A&R for Parlophone, he signed Lily Allen and Eliza Doolittle and worked with Kylie Minogue.
